How to turn a garden into a living room
What could be better than a warm summer evening in a garden filled with fragrant aromas? The same evening, but in a comfortable chair at the set table and in good company in the summer living room.
1. Decide on a place. Depending on the tasks, the living room is placed directly in front of the house or, on the contrary, in the depths of the garden. It can continue the interior of the house on a veranda or terrace, or it can become a completely autonomous corner of hospitality. Finally, the living room can be set up in the most unclaimed place in the garden – in the corner zone, and thereby save it, at the same time creating an almost real patio.
2. The reception area for guests does not have to be higher or on the same level with the entire territory – the “in-depth” version always looks original. The foot of the summer room can be anything from lawn and planks to the most intricate paving. The only “but” – take care of a reliable drainage system so that on a rainy day the floor does not turn into a lake or swamp.
3. Above, the recreation area is well protected from rain, wind, too bright sun. A canopy, pergola or gazebo, in addition to a protective function, performs a decorative one – this is an additional area for a green design. Twisted with weaving stems or complemented by suspended flower pots, structures add beauty to the living room and garden.
4. Consider lighting. Conveniently permanent – from lanterns, ground lighting, wall or ceiling lamps, if the rest is arranged in a gazebo or under a pergola. Topical temporary – from portable lamps, decorative garlands, and finally candles. What really needs to be lit near the recreation area is the approaches to it and, if there is a grill nearby, the working area above it.
5. The hearth in summer apartments is a sure guarantee of a cozy atmosphere on cool evenings. Choose the one that suits your purposes: a traditional or modern type of fireplace – “floor lamp”, “lantern”, portable hearth or the fashion trend of recent years – a fire pit. Modern models of fireplaces work not only on wood, but also on gel fuel. They are so compact that they can fit on a table.
6. Furniture is next on the list and several parameters are important here. Comfort and practicality, so that the rest is pleasant, and the furniture serves for a long time. Compliance with the style of the house, especially if the living room is close to enclosed spaces. Wicker, forged, mobile, stationary – furniture must be in harmony with the garden space. Complement it with textiles appropriate for the season and weather and the living room is virtually complete.
7. Fragrances in the quiet zone are the same natural component of comfort, like all other details. Make sure that the most useful, pleasantly smelling plants grow nearby: refreshing air conifers – pines, fir, junipers, spruces, soothing herbs – lavender, mint, lemon balm, insect repellent annuals – nasturtium, calendula. Of course, bushes of lilac, rose hips or honeysuckle nearby will also be just right.

8. The decoration of the living room will be luxurious flower beds around and elegant details inside – vases, pillows, lamps, decorative dishes, potted plants. Let the accessories emphasize and complement the style of the living room, as well as delight you and your loved ones.
